Brian Knapp
Brian Knapp enjoys assisting clients in finding solutions to problems which are a struggle. When we’re struggling, it can be difficult to find new solutions to our problems. In my life, I have faced many struggles and have found solutions to these challenging problems. Sometimes it’s necessary to accept we have challenges before we can overcome them.
As an inter-level licensed, Marriage & Family Therapist, my work focuses on families, individuals, couples, chronic pain and illness, veterans and groups. I myself live with chronic pain and understand the struggles others endure. In addition, I’m a US Navy veteran and understand firsthand how difficult military life can be. Because I’m a veteran, I’m aware of the realities of navigating and receiving services from the Veterans’ Administration. Finally, I have experience providing counseling for those struggling with issues of: depression, anxiety, couples and relationships, family problems, parenting, grief and loss, career and work, stress management, conflict resolution, military and veteran concerns, and gender identity. In my work, I believe we all need to be compassionate toward each other and listen to each other’s concerns.
I have my undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona (with a Psychology and Gender & Women Studies major), and my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have a background dealing with diverse issues. Being part of the LGBTQA community also has enriched my life to look at life differently. I love working with clients to see them grow through the therapy process.
